MediaCom has been named Media Agency of The Year at the 2009
M&M Awards. The MediaCom network beat all-comers to take this
prestigious title, and also picked up 2 awards for individual
campaigns for Braun and Mars Pedigree. The extent of MediaCom's
domination was underlined by the number of campaigns that the
network had shortlisted. In total, 11 MediaCom campaigns were
shortlisted across 18 categories - more than three times as many as
the next best agency.
Gavin Duke, Head of MediaCom's International Unit, said: "We are
delighted to receive this much-coveted award as recognition of the
tremendous work our people have been doing, especially considering
the tough economic climate we have all been operating in this past
year. I am particularly pleased with the number of shortlisted
entries we achieved, because I believe this reflects the MediaCom
network's growing ability to develop creative and effective
campaigns across an ever greater range of brands, categories and
territories."
MediaCom's winners came in the following categories: Best
International Corporate Branding/CSR Campaign for Pedigree Adoption
Drive and Best International Launch Campaign for Braun
BodycruZer.
Stephen Allan, Chairman and CEO of MediaCom Worldwide,
commented: "When I took on this job a year ago I realised that the
MediaCom network was full of talented people producing great work,
but that we maybe didn't always get the recognition we deserved.
Over the past 12 months we have been rolling out a series of
initiatives across the network designed to recognise, encourage and
showcase the innovation and creativity that our people possess - so
it's wonderful to receive this very public acknowledgement of the
excellent work they do for our clients around the world. We're very
proud to be named Agency of the Year, but we won't be resting on
our laurels."
